Fresh start at describing a process?

Use some tips below 👇

📍 figure out which process you are going to document, determine its purpose, and brief description

📍 start from a single process within a department, avoid covering the entire organization at once

📍 where does the process begin and end? what causes it to start? and how do you know when it’s done, and what result it has created?

📍 think who your audience is and what they already know about your subject; write a way that any employee with reasonable knowledge can read and understand it

📍 think of any process-related information that you already have: it can be personal paper notes, old emails to a colleague, screenshots, useful links, etc.

📍 brainstorm any process-related parts, write them down, and place them in chronological order afterward

📍 next to each process step, decide the individual who will be responsible for processing it, use their job title rather than their name

📍 highlight the common mistakes that people tend to make and show how to avoid them

📍 test a process yourselves or ask someone else to do that – can you make it happen?

📍 make sure that everyone included in the process is aware of his responsibilities and tasks

📍 answer the question: who will be owning this process? And make sure he/she is aware of it!
